PlayOnline, Square EA's Web site for strategy guides, was overcome by traffic yesterday as users attempted to view its Final Fantasy IX online strategy guide. The guide contains a complete walk-through, character information, equipment data, a bestiary, an ability list, and hidden features.
The PlayOnline site has been reaching its maximum capacity on a consistent basis since its launch, resulting in slow access times, slow performance, or an inability to connect altogether. Square EA stated in a press release that it is working around the clock to get the site up and running. A print strategy guide produced by Brady Games also includes keywords that can be used at PlayOnline to retrieve more in-depth information and to access secret areas of the site.
