Last week Activision's First Strike map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops led all-new releases. This week's focus, however, is on a mustached plumber playing sports and open-world racing.
First out of the gate this week is Nintendo's Mario Sports Mix for the Wii. The title is a four-sport Wii compilation including arcade-style takes on hockey, basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball, complete with power-ups and special moves. Gamers will be able to play each of the sports with Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom costars or with their own Mii characters.
Also out this week is Atari's Test Drive Unlimited 2 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The title will see players racing in locations that include the Spanish party hotspot Ibiza and the paradise island of Oahu from the original title. In addition to new vehicles, race types, and a revamped single-player mode that can be played online or off, the game will give players the chance to build and grow in-game clubs composed of friend networks.
Gamers with a tilt for virtual game shows can pick up THQ's You Don't Know Jack this week for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and DS. The trivia game will feature wisecracks about Tiger Woods' extramarital affairs, as well as drug references and figurative buckets of blood. It also features a fictitious television show centered on flatulence.
For further details on the week's games, visit GameSpot's New Releases page. The full list of downloadable games on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Shop Channel will be revealed later this week. Release dates are based on retailer listings and are subject to change.
