Ubisoft today has shipped Shadowbane: Throne of Oblivion to stores. The expansion to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game sends gamers on monster-slaying quests across a postapocalyptic fantasy world.Those who purchase the expansion pack will also receive the full version of Shadowbane, which was released in March 2003, and The Rise of Chaos expansion pack, which was released in December 2003. As an additional treat, owners of Throne of Oblivion will have one character slot added to the Shadowbane universe. Throne of Oblivion features several new areas to explore and items to acquire. The game also features new game mechanics and enhanced performance, as well as improved graphics over its predecessors. A new playable race, the vampires, has also been added to the game. The bloodsuckers will have their own supernatural powers, which are provided by their undead state. Wolfpack Studios is also adding nightstalker and necromancer classes, in addition to new disciplines. Shadowbane: Throne of Oblivion is rated "T" for Teen and has an MSRP of $19.99.
