PS3 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood beta cloaked until Oct. 4

PlayStation 3 gamers who preordered Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood through GameStop may have experienced a moment of confusion yesterday, when their promised multiplayer beta test window did not open. As it would turn out, Ubisoft is not yet ready to open up the game's online servers for testing, saying that the beta-testing window for PS3 gamers has been pushed back in all territories to October 4.

Once it does become available, qualifying participants will gain access to an assassination-themed online testing arena, which will serve as a first public look at the game's new multiplayer component. The publisher also intends for the beta-testing period to serve as a "stress test" on its servers.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is due out for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 16 in North America and is the first title in the stealth-killing series to include a multiplayer component. For more on the new element, check out Brotherhood's Comic-Con 2010 multiplayer movie (embedded below).
