Help LOTR Online deal with stress

One of the most important parts of testing a massively multiplayer online game is to throw everything at it at once to make sure the servers don't explode. Turbine, the developer of MMOGs Asheron's Call and Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, is about to put its upcoming MMOG, Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, through such a test and is looking for help from gamers.

Turbine has teamed up with GameSpot to find users for its upcoming LOTRO stress test, which begins this Friday and ends Monday, February 26. To sign up for the event, just head over to the test's Web page.

To qualify, participants must live in the US, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand and meet the game's PC requirements (listed on the above Web page).

The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar is being published by Midway and is scheduled for release on April 24. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's previous coverage.
