The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced that it will induct John Carmack into its Hall of Fame at the 4th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards next month. Carmack is the founder, owner, and technical director of id Software, the studio responsible for Wolfenstein 3-D, the Doom series, and the Quake series of action games.
Previous award recipients include Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, Sid Meier of Firaxis Games, and Hironobu Sakaguchi of Square USA.
